Shokudo at The Heeren

Try this restaurant.  Marche version in Japanese Style.  Most of the restaurants in Orchard are very pack with people.  But not the restaurants at The Heeren on the Christmas Eve.

Love at first sight? Again?

Hohohoho… I met him at Queensways Shopping Centre at Alexandra Road 1 month ago.  When I looked at him, my eyes just can’t stop staring at him…. He is sooooo cooollll!!   Sigh….Unfortunately, i dare not to approached.   I don’t have the guts. When I near him, my heart starts to beat faster and faster…. Sigh.. i just don’t have the guts…. 😦

I  met him in one of the shops at Queensways Shopping Centre.  He was in black shirt, and green pants.  He is my prince charming.

I was thinking of him back home… sigh… My thought, if we have the fate to be together, we will meet again.

Last week I was in Chinatown, and i met him again in one of the shops. Whoaaa!…Was this called fate? He was hanging around in a shop.  Should I should i ?   Sigh… again i dare not to approach……. I am such a sucker!

Last weekend,  I have made up my mind to approach him…. I went to Queensway Shopping Centre hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that he is still there around…When I got to the shop where i met  him… he was no where seen!   Other people must have court him… Aiyaaaaaa….. I was so disappointed lahhhh.. Heart broken.  😦

What to do… In the end i walked at the Queensway Shopping Centre, looked at the shoes, shoes, shoes and more shoes… with disappointment- lost hope, lost fate.  I entered one last shop, when I was about to leave, … I was surprised I found you……. Without thinking further, i quickly grab him and say…..  “Hi big guy……..”

Coffeeshops in Singapore

For those never come to Singapore before, this is how coffeeshops in Singapore look like. Malaysia is not the same… yea.. reason is because Malaysia has got large land than Singapore. Most coffeeshops, or.. I would say all coffeeshops in Singapore are located under the HDB flats. Very convenient for makan…. especially when feeling hungry at night. Not only coffeeshop though, grocery shops, mini market, and etc.

In other word, Singapore is a very compact country.  Like compact car – Mini Cooper or Perodua Kancil!  Hahaha.. Shouldn’t laugh like this.. should laugh HO HO HO HO!

And another thing I noticed, 50-70% people worked in the coffeeshops could speak Cantonese.  Impressive!  Hohoho!  Because I  myself can’t speak Mandarin. Hohohoho!…..  A few times I ordered food in Mandarin (simple one lah), in return the sellers responded to me in Cantonese!.. Duhhhhhhhh….

Another exploration at Bugis

Another mission to Bugis.  My mission was to purchase another pair of shoes.  Working shoes actually.

Before i purchase anything, I was wandering the area nearby.  And had been snapping pictures around the area as if i am a tourist! Hahaha……

I didn’t manage to take the Bugis Street photos.  It is a big market covered in a big tent.  Lots of stuff can find there but the items there are not genuine.  If you don’t mind shop for not genuine or unbranded products… stuff are pretty worthwhile to buy.

Then I came across these two next to each other temples, the Indian and the Chinese temple.

There were not many people pray at the Indian Temple…. But as for the chinese one, people always crowded inside the temple especially on the weekends.  One reason, I guess is Chinese is the  largest population in Singapore.

It is common when there is a crowd on the Chinese temple, there are many stalls around selling flowers and fruits.  The flowers and fruits are for prayers.

If you want to buy the best price branded watches, The Bencoolen building is the place.  At this moment we found this is the place that is selling the cheapest branded watch.  No other places can beat the price.  The Bencoolen is a building that many watch shops are located inside.  Strangely these shops are selling 30-50% than the normal retail price.   Referring to the prices they sell, we able to know how much profit (mark-up prices) the usual watch retail stores are earning for a watch.  However, they don’t accept credit card, only CASH!

If there are any place or shops in Singapore that have got unbeatable price, feel free to send me a comment.

Next, i went for Orgy.. wrong spelling. OG shopping centre..  Yeah,,… same pronunciation for orgy.. Hahahaha.. A strange mall to name OG huh?  I went in as hoping to find a shoe in there… Nope.  There were many selections but not my choice.  I noticed this OG shopping centre always give promotion.  Such as buy 1 get 2 for free and discounts.

Its afternoon then, and my stomach was calling for food.. I walked further down..and found an outdoor food court, The Albert Centre Temporary Market.   Just temporary?????

Again, it was crowded… In fact, in Singapore, everywhere is crowded of people due to extremely small country.   Many like this type of outdoor food court can be found in Singapore… I never tried any of the chinese food there because chinese food in Singapore has disappointed me though, but not the Indian, Malay and Western food.  If you want to know why, read my blog past issue – Maxwell Food Court Centre.  Certainly there are good ones… when there are good ones, for sure people are queuing infront of the stalls/restaurants and very very very long….. One thing we noticed, Singaporeans have the patiences to queue for good food………………..

My lunch - Malay stall - 1 drumstick + 1 mutton + 1 vegie = S$6.50

My filling lunch - Malay stall - 1 drumstick + 1 mutton + 1 vegie = S$6.50 & 80 cents glass bandung YUMMY!

In the end, i chosen a malay stall.  I am a spicy and hot person. I love eating spicy food which was trained by my family.  Every one of them likes hot stuff! Hahaha… I guess and hope i will not have the problems on food when I am at Sri Lanka.  Oh ya… the Bandung is my favourite!  Air Bandung is a type of Malay favourite drinks = Syrup + milk.  The meal was pretty expensive though, because of the two type of meats.  Another thing i noticed, Malay & Indian food are more expensive than the Chinese food….

Ahh… I found my shoes at BHG at Bugis Junction.  More selections of shoes than OG.  Mission is accomplished! 😉
