Ayam Penyet Ria (Smashed Fried Chicken)

Went to this Ayam Penyet Ria at Lucky Plaza.  It is a type of Indonesian food.  Always find a big crowd even though it is between the lunch and dinner time.

In English, it called “Smashed Fried Chicken”… i wondered why named “smashed”?  The chicken was in nice piece of drumstick and wasn’t smashed at all…

I find the food is ok… not really fantastic but it is worth to try.  What i don’t like is, the plate doesn’t have gravy on it… white rice and Indonesian Fried Chicken.   I need gravy in my rice though.. been eating like this since i was a baby. hahahaha… You probably will like it more if you are someone who is ok having no gravy white rice…

Sometimes when you are in a food court, you may find Indonesian food stalls sells Ayam Penyet too…. whether the Ayam Penyet sell at food court (kopitiam) taste good or not I am not too sure, but this Ayam Penyet specialised restaurant sure have many patrons!  Actually, every restaurant in Singapore is crowded with patrons whether the food taste delicious or yuck….

Thinking about it, a survival industry in the economic downtown in Singapore is F&B….whether the food is yummy or sucky, still the restaurant is packed.  Ripley’s Believe it or not? hahahaha…

Well, the restaurant served other type of dishes… but this Ayam Penyet set is recommended dish….

The dish is worth to try, not expensive, just S$6.50 for the set.
