There are several La Manila Cafes in the Klang Valley. I know there are two cafes.. one is Mid Valley and another is Taman Megah, same row of shops as the Fatty Crab Restaurant but I never try the Taman Megah branch.
I usually go for the Mid Valley one. When you try once, you will want to go again and again….. In fact, i am a loyal customer of La Manila, been going into this restaurant ever since the opening of Mid Valley.
They served all types of local food… from curry laksa, chow kueh teow, nasi lemak, chicken rice and even some new dishes of western food. I never try the western food though… because the local food already best enough for me to visit the restaurant again and again……. By the way, the chow kueh teow in Malaysia is 101% totally different from Singapore….whereby Singapore taste sweet!!!! eeeeekks!!!! and Malaysia kueh teow is…. superdelicious!….
Surely I will go to Mid Valley because it is just a 3-5 minutes drive without jam. Do not know why, i like to hang out at Mid Valley. Probably its near my home… Although Mid Valley has expanded to The Gardens, however, i still enjoy walking the old wing..
Tourists visit Kuala Lumpur, should drop by to shop or at least visit Mid Valley.
Here are some shots taken…..Chinese New Year decor is up!
During the lunch time I took my mum to a new place called “Nyonya Colors” that me neither been there. They sell nyonya food such as the local food i.e. nasi lemak special, yellow laksa, dry noodle, assam laksa and more..price is not expensive for most of the items RM8.90 for mall environment. As for the food, I would say they are just so – so.. To me, I won’t suggest you to try at this restaurant unless you have other choice to take in Mid Valley.
If you are a non-Malaysian who is reading my blog..high chances you may not know what is ‘nyonya’..to know more about nyonya, click here.
However, I do like the atmosphere there.. especially the display of nyonya kueh at the counter. They are so colourful! I think that is why the restaurant is called Nyonya Colors…. Although it wasn’t a highly rated restaurant, the restaurant is still full of patrons though. I tried the Yellow Noodle Laksa and Dry Noodle, – they don’t taste nice to me,… but who knows others may be better?
