The weather is so dry in Singapore. It has been in this weather since early January. First time Singapore experiences this weather.
Feels like autumn season. How I wish. Unfortunately not. I can feel my skin is drying such as face and hands.
What is happening to the earth?
After a long morning and afternoon packing and moving to a new place (in Singapore). In the evening there was another “session” to rush for.
Shouldn’t have bought the show on the same day as my house moving. But never knew it fallen on the same day as I have bought the tickets 1.5 months before.
It was my first time going for a theater in Singapore, entering into the Esplanade Theater (the durian shape building).. hmm..actually it was not my first time going for theater though. My first time was in Las Vegas, United States.. whereby there were many shows going on there. I went with my brother and myself. It was a long time.. i think 12 years ago? How i wish i still can go travelling around the world like i used to.
Ok.. I bought Sing Dollar because seems like a comedy show… I am kind of a comedian person myself too. Like jokes and laughters. And I don’t like shows full of theater singing.. as this will drive me to ZzZzZz….The esplanade theater is pretty cool though.. I bought the lowest price seating (me no rich person lah). S$38 per ticket. People taking these seats have to look down to the stage. Yea.. vertically 60 degree down. The interior of the theater is similar of what we seen in most of the movies.
As for Sing Dollar, hah…. the story is basic though, but can tell the actors and actresses put a lot of hard work on making the show successful. One thing that impressed me was the changing of clothes.. they can change the clothings forward and backward and forward and back to the same clothes.. many times and in a short time. Funny people funny story and is all about money. The show last about 2.5 hours… 20 minutes break time in the middle. It is fine to watch this show once in a while….
The comedians – Sebastian Tan, Hossan Leong, Lim Kay Siu, Selena Tan, Pam Oei, Emma Yong, Kumar and Najip Ali…Who do I like?… 1st I like Kumar, 2nd…. I like Najip Ali. I think i like the way they do the acting and talking with the accent of Indian and Malay.
So far i wont rate this show full stars… probably 3 out of 5? The areas of improvement is the storyline – too basic… the Story was about a bag of money drop from the “sky”… and these people thinking of ways to betraying each other (the money suppose to be shared).. and one wanted to report police and others asked him to keep quiet. In the end, nobody gets the money, the bag of money burned due to accident when Najip Ali accidentally lost her balance, tripped, the bag of money fell in some soft of fireplace..
We were at this Bugis Junction and saw a new building opposite.
LUMINA, was a quick glimpse from afar of this new shopping complex opposite the Bugis Junction. The name of this building is very small, and I was so confident and betting with my friend that the name of this complex is LUMINA and she bet for ILUMA for a meal. Dang! I lost…
Doesn’t the name similar with LUNA the Staedtler coloured pencil or Illama?
In fact, no name is indicated inside the building.
Lets check the inside….. 50% of the shops were opened. And most of them opened in just a week or two. So i guessed all shops be opened in 2 months time.
There are 5 floors – cinema, restaurants, fashioned clothing and etc.
I like this restaurant, called Empire State located at 4th floor… Something like New York New York but in a cute way..when we were there, it wasn’t open yet. Maybe you can try…….it is going to be in operation soon.
Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!
Got attracted by the value meal offered by the Hard Rock Cafe. Knew about this at a small article in the Straits Time newspaper. Time like this really need good food and worth of MONEY!!! Ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching $$$! This promotion is only available on weekdays and until 31st March 2009.
Went to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch today to try out the set Recession Set Lunch. We selected the MaxiCali Chicken and Cajun Fish. I am a fan of pasta but decided not to choose Bacon Aglio after knowing its just a very basic plain pasta – Spaghetti with Olive oil and some pieces of bacons. Glad that I made the right choice. 🙂
Both dishes value for $$$. Comes with fries and coleslaw. I like the this type of fries – thick and fat and meaty. Hahaha… I don’t fancy skinny fries. Yea..i like MOS Burger thick fries!
Besides… the main dishes…. each set comes with soup, drinks and lastly, Haagen Dazs icecream.
Waaahhhhh….. Good price, good food and GREAT environment. Where else can find in Singapore????
Lets take a look at the surroundings… 🙂
While eating and enjoying the environment, i noticed an Indian God picture framed at the centre of the dining place. Can see? I wondered is there a meaning placing the Indian God at the centre while other pictures are rockers??
Hmmm.. whatever the reason, the our lunch was yummy… and filling!
And now the bill…..
The $10.00 nett already included the tax and service charges.
Yea… we need more of this type of value set meals so that we can spend less but eat quality food more.. hehehee…
